Owner and General Manager Hellbusch believes something special happens when family and friends get together with a bottle of something good – people connect and memories are made. It is her mission to make everyday occasions special and memorable through exceptional food and spirits. Hellbusch grew up in Omaha, and Spirit World has long been a favorite destination for a healthy lunch and good wine. A “recovering attorney”, Laurie was inspired by her love of food and wine to take over Spirit World in 2008 and continue its legacy. Her goal is to maintain the local, personal feel of the store while constantly striving to provide exceptional quality, service, and selection.
Hellbusch is also a founding member of Omaha Whiskey Fest, a founding member of CORN (Coalition of Retailers of Nebraska), and serves on the board of Saving Grace Perishable Food Rescue.
